Miranda and Graeme met in a classic way - in an Ottawa bar, through mutual friends. They hit it off immediately and spent the majority of the night joking with each other and ignoring everyone they were with. Miranda confided in her now maid of honour, Jaden, in the bar bathroom, that Graeme was very cute. The girls then sang each others praises about how hilarious they were, and about the fact that they knew they were making a great first impression. This was in fact the case, as Graeme later confided in his now best man, Josh, a similar thing on the taxi ride home.

Two weeks later, they went on their first date.

A first date that was flowing with great conversation, and laughs as the two got to know each other. Miranda being a trooper, still making the date after being bedridden all day with the worst hangover of her life - surprising to some as Miranda is not a big drinker (anymore). This went completely over Graeme's head, but he was starting to raise an eyebrow when he was ready for a third drink at the restaurant, and Miranda had taken about 2 sips of her still full pint.

Overall, a very good date as they quickly became inseparable.

After an early birthday party for Graeme, Jaden made the decision for the couple to announce their official status of boyfriend and girlfriend, as it was simply too obvious that they didn't have eyes for anyone else.

Miranda did Graeme the honour of letting him move in with her and allowing him to become a needed father figure for her beloved cat Charlie. Shortly afterwards, they decided to expand their growing family and bring a new bundle of joy into their lives, and her name is Olive.

Things were chugging along as they both worked to start building a foundation for their life together when they decided they needed a change. And a change they made, by packing up and moving to the farthest possible destination from Ottawa → Australia.

They couldn't be away from family, friends, and their cat children any longer - as much as Australia brought a ton of amazing adventures, new friends, and sunny weather, the two reluctantly returned back to “reality”. Back on that corporate work GRIND BABY YEA!

Graeme popped the big question while the couple were celebrating their 6 year anniversary in Quebec City.
